About The House

The Casa Baula is situated in a national park, in the neighborhood of Palm Beach Estates, and is one of only a few homes located directly on the 3.5-mile pristine beach known as Playa Grande. This private, gated, 2500-square-foot oceanfront home with pool has 3 bedrooms (2 king beds and 2 twin beds) and two full bathrooms and will comfortably accommodate 6 people. We can convert the two twin beds to a king; just let us know in advance. You'll find vaulted ceilings and custom artwork throughout the home. Every room has AC and ceiling fans.

GOURMET PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN & FULL DINING ROOM:
Granite counters and island with breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances, 6-burner European gas stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal, blender, coffeemaker. The kitchen also has custom cedar cabinets with all the cooking utensils, pots/pans, serving dishes, and supplies.

BEACHFRONT PATIO, COCKTAIL PLUNGE POOL, MINIBAR, AND GARDENS:
Plunge pool with Jacuzzi jets and bench seat, dining tables, 2 BBQs (gas and charcoal), 2 outdoor patio lounge areas (one covered and one tree-shaded),  "La Tipsea Tica Mini Bar," lighted ping pong table, soft top surfboard, coolers, Bocce and Petanque court, badminton, double chaise lounge relaxation zone. Secured and LED lighted professionally landscaped grounds, stone walkways and driveway, 2 outside showers, monitored security system. Beach chairs, sand and pool toys are available. Boogie boards are available for daily or weekly rental through our Concierge Service.

INDOOR ENTERTAINMENT & OFFICE/LIBRARY:
50" flat-screen TV, US cable channels and Apple TV, DVD player, and over 200 DVDs. We also have a large selection of family games and puzzles for all ages, along with high-speed Wi-Fi Internet. Our private library contains an extensive selection of reference books related to all things Costa Rican, a growing collection of Spanish Nobel Laureate literature, and a multitude of "beach read" novels. The twin bedroom also has a bi-lingual library of books for children.

SURFING:
Your backyard beach plays host to the most consistent surf breaks in all of Costa Rica! Playa Grande offers a year round, beginner to legendary beach break. From mid tide to high tide it is A-frame, tube rides, and fun playful lefts and rights. No need to bring your own surfboard as all types of boards are available for rent from Frijoles Locos Surf Shop.

SWIMMING:
Our palm tree-shaded, backyard pool with Jacuzzi jets and bench seating is perfect for kids. Adults love to snag a beverage from the near by mini bar, grab a swim noodle for a float and let the freshwater soothe the soul. The pool and patio areas are lighted for your evening enjoyment. Open water swimming off Playa Grande is possible for proficient swimmers who can get themselves just beyond the breakers. There are turtle marker posts every 100 meters, all the way down the beach, that are visible from offshore. These markers are great for calculating exactly how far you swim.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF INCLUDED:
We proudly offer the services of our staff with over 65 years of combined Costa Rica vacation experience. Three times a week house cleaning and departure cleaning are included with your stay. Our off-site Property Manager will provide a welcome orientation to our home and is available for assistance with the house if needed. Before your arrival, you will receive helpful vacation planning tips and support from our Concierge offering: ground transit and rent-a-car assistance, options for activities and adventures, services of an in-home chef, at the house surf/salsa/cooking lessons, and massage services, local restaurant suggestions, and more.
